Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Rote8 mobile application ("App") operated by Rote8 ("we", "our", or "us").
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Rote8 is a running shoe rotation tracking application that allows users to:
- Track running shoe mileage and lifecycle
- Manage a virtual shoe rack
- Sync running activities from connected third-party services
- Receive notifications about shoe usage and retirement
3. User Accounts
To use certain features of the App, you must create an account. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Providing accurate and up-to-date information
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
4. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services such as Strava. Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third-party terms of service. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services.
5. User Content
You retain ownership of any data you input into the App (shoe information, nicknames, etc.). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store and process this data solely for the purpose of providing the service.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the App or servers
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Use the App to transmit malicious code
7. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, features, and content (excluding user-submitted data), is owned by Rote8 and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The Rote8 name, logo, and related branding are our trademarks.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Shoe mileage tracking is based on data provided by you and third-party services, and we make no guarantees about its accuracy.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rote8 shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to injury resulting from reliance on shoe mileage data.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases, and we may delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes through the App or by updating this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
