Welcome to Rote8 ("App", "we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Rote8 mobile application or our website (https://rote8app.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use Rote8.
1. Athletic, Health & Biomechanical Disclaimer
Rote8 is an athletic tracking utility, not a medical or biomechanical diagnostic tool. Shoe mileage estimations, foam life percentages, wear telemetry, and retirement recommendations are calculated approximations based on user-defined limits and general manufacturer guidelines.
They do not account for individual runner biomechanics, surface hardness, cadence, foot strike characteristics, weather conditions, or individual gait pathology. Rote8 does not guarantee the prevention of injuries, stress fractures, tendinopathy, or joint ailments. Always listen to your body and seek professional medical guidance from a sports physician or physical therapist for any pain, discomfort, or injury symptoms.
2. Strava API & Third-Party Services
Rote8 offers integration with Strava, Inc. through the Strava API v3. By connecting your Strava account:
- You acknowledge that Rote8 is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Strava, Inc.
- You must comply with Strava's Terms of Service and Community Standards when using connected features.
- We are not responsible for downtime, API schema modifications, or service discontinuations originating from Strava or other third-party providers.
3. User Accounts & Responsibilities
When you create an account in Rote8, you agree to provide accurate registration information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the App.
- Interfere with or disrupt backend API endpoints or Firebase servers.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any user accounts or Firestore databases.
4. Intellectual Property
The Rote8 logo, graphics, design system, user interface, brand assets, and proprietary code are the exclusive intellectual property of Rote8. All other trademarks, including brand names (e.g., Nike, ASICS, Saucony, HOKA, Strava), are the property of their respective owners and are used strictly for identification and catalog indexing purposes.
5. Termination & Account Deletion
You may terminate your account at any time directly through the Rote8 mobile app under Settings > Account > Delete Account, or by writing to [email protected]. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in abusive platform behavior.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Rote8 and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, athletic injury, or gear replacement costs, arising out of or in connection with your use of the application.
